Ashley Madison ('AM') isn't like most sites where you pay a fee for a certain time period. Instead AM sells you 'Credits' which never expire if unused. These credits are used each time you use one of AM's premium services. For example guest members can't contact new members for at least 3 days after a member joins. If you want to contact a new member as soon as their account is activated - and before the sea of vultures - then it'll cost you 5 credits. Sending an email as a 'Priority Message' will cost 5 credits as well. One thing to note - you are not charged any credits for those features that involve email messages (new members; priority emails) until the message is actually read by the recipient.
